Hi! I’m Sarah Larsen:
Organizer, Occupational Therapist, Mother.
After my mother-in-law gave me a book about home organization, I used it to help me declutter all of the clothes that no longer fit me; they made me feel bad about my body every time I walked in my closet.
Decluttering those clothes made me feel good for the first time in years, so I decluttered every room, closet, and drawer in my home!
As I let go of the things that were weighing me down, I felt a sense of freedom and I was less anxious. I also felt empowered to rediscover who I was and that felt good.
Once I decluttered a third of the things in our home, I found that I had more free time because I was cleaning less and enjoying my life more. This new time freedom allowed me to sift through the mental clutter that was running through my mind, which snowballed into decluttering our debt, a house that we didn’t like, and a job that made me feel anxious most of the time.
I wondered if there were other women out there who felt just like I did… and it turns out there are a LOT of women who feel overwhelmed and paralyzed by their clutter.
And that’s how Balanced Home Organization was born.
Over the past seven years, I have helped hundreds of women clear the clutter and get organizing systems in place. Bringing 22 years of clinical expertise as an occupational therapist to home organization gives my clients a sense of stability, and of course effective strategies.
I love helping my clients shift from feeling overwhelmed and embarrassed by their clutter to feeling calm and balanced in their homes and lives. It’s the best feeling to see my clients transform mentally, physically, and emotionally as the clutter leaves their homes. I enjoy celebrating their successes along the way.
For me, it’s more than just organizing:
it’s about helping women create a space that they are proud of and feel comfortable in.

I love traveling to islands.
I’ve been to the Caribbean 11 times and I keep going back. We got married in Jamaica and renewed our vows 5 years later in Aruba.
I love salsa dancing! 💃🏼
I used to take Latin dance lessons before my boys were born and I’d go dancing all over Portland with my husband.
My father was a military officer & my mother was an accountant; talk about growing up in an organized home with organized people! I was a tidy kid & that continued into high school when I was voted, “most organized!”
